What a day!

21 February 2011

What a day I have had!  It has been one bad thing after another today.  I couldn't wait for 5pm to roll round!  Talk about bad luck or what...

8AM:
Getting ready to go to work and realise I can't take my coat with me because it stinks of smoke from my parents!  I don't have another sensible winter coat and thus I had to cycle into work wearing a hoodie and a woolie hat in the rain!  I so wasn't dry by the time I got to work :(

1PM:
"Yay it's lunch time, I'm starving" - usually when you are starving you eat something, obviously.  However, after picking up my bag, I realised I had left my purse in my coat pocket which was currently stinking up my hallway back at the flat!  So, no lunch for me today :(

2PM:
I decided to go out for a walk at lunch anyway, you know, to be healthy and all that.  However, was walking out of the lift and back into my office when I realise I had lost my fob to get me back in the department!  I had it on my when I left or else I wouldn't have been able to get out.  So, I decided to retrace my steps to try and find it.  Did I find it in the end??? NO!  Had to ask the keeper of the fobs if I could have another one - £5 gone before I even get paid :(

3PM:
Start talking about the loss of fob with others in my department, only to remember a conversation I had with the fob keeper when I first moved in to my flat (back in Oct 2010).  It went a little like this:
Fob Keeper (FK) "OOO, who has two fobs?"
Me "That's me.  One is for work, one is for the flat"
FK "Oh right.  If you want me to, I can put the access to the office on your flat fob if you like"
Me "That's ok, I have a fob, no point in putting it on both"
This is when I remembered I didn't need to pay for another fob, I could have asked the fob keeper to use my flat fob instead!  Why I never think of these things at the time I will never know :(

I was so happy when my computer clock hit 5pm, until I realised I would have to cycle home with a wet seat and no waterproofs!  Glad to be home, hopefully tomorrow will not be like it was today.
